The Aztecs are said to have believed damiana herb to be a potent aphrodisiac, which is an agent that stimulates sexual desire.Traditionally, damiana herb has also been used by wiccans in their ceremonies. They believed that damiana possesses powers as an aphrodisiac and that burning the herb can produce visions. It was also drunk as a healing tea amongst many Indian tribes throughout South and Central America. Through the years this has become a herb with many qualities described to it. This extract is 10 times as strong as the regular dried herb.
Effects:
Realistically, damiana extract can be used as a blood purifier as it has several of the same qualities as parsley. Damiana herb extract is thought to impact the nervous system, supporting tranquil feelings. It generally encourages a feeling of well being. The extract also stimulates blood circulation in the body (also to the genitals which is why it is considered sexually stimulating) and may cause one to experience increased energy and possible weight loss.
Usage:
To be prepared as a tea. Use about 1 to 2 grams and mix this with 1 litre of water. Let this boil softly for 5 minutes, let it cool off, sift it and drink a few cups.
Warnings:
Although not proven, it could be that very intensive use of large doses of Damiana, could lead to liver damage. It is not recommended to use large doses for a longer time.
